Programs that support Education and Career Development:
BE GREAT: Graduate introduces academic goal setting to Club members by linking their aspirations for the future with concrete actions of today.
Junior Staff guides young people in preparing for a career in Boys & Girls Clubs or other service professions.
Money Matters promotes financial responsibility and independence by building money management skills.
Power Hour provides homework help and tutoring and encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
Club Tech is a basic computer skills program that develops members' proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and other productivity software through fun, engaging hands-on lessons and projects.
T3 In an effort to ensure that members achieve great futures, the Continentals of Omega Boys & Girls Club has chosen to implement T3: “Training Teens for Tomorrow”. This new program will provide 15-18 year old teens with the skills necessary to make it through high school and into young adulthood. We will do this by providing assistance in gaining the skills needed to get a job, graduate from high school and get in to college or other post-secondary education.
COMING THIS SUMMER
Mad Scientist/Junior Scientist is a program that encourages members to explore science through engaging, hands-on experiments.
Reading & Writing builds basic reading and comprehension skills and nurtures a love of reading.
Newsletter involves youth in journalism through the use of photography and creative writing to publish to publish a quarterly Club newsletter.
